Eric Swalwell, license & insurance for gun owners

Eric Swalwell Pushes Licensing, Insurance Requirements for Gun Owners

During his April 9, 2019, town hall in Florida, 2020 presidential hopeful Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said that he thinks licensing and insurance requirements for gun owners are worthy pursuits. Swalwell said, “I think most gun owners who are responsible want to see more licensing, and standards, and background checks. So I do support having higher standards. I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to look at, especially if you accumulate some of the most dangerous weapons, having insurance requirements as well.”
Swalwell also reiterated his push to ban “assault weapons” and use a mandatory buyback to take them from their current owners. He said, “Keep your pistols, keep your rifles, keep your shotguns, but we can ban and buy back the 15 million ‘assault weapons’ in our country.”
When an audience member asked about creating a national database on gun owners, Swalwell responded, “I just don’t buy that there’s going to be any national round-up of guns. No one is saying, ‘Round up the guns.'” He said fear of a government-sponsored firearm round-up is “illogical.”

he also said:

In a tweet on 16 November, Swalwell responded to a gun rights enthusiast who said the Democrats' proposal to confiscate or buy semi-automatic rifles would result in "war" due to resistance from the gun owners, stating "it would be a short war" because "the government has nukes."

He is a dangerous totalitarian. So... he is saying that he would murder people who don't comply with his ideas on gun control. Should convene a Special Grand Jury for a representative wanting to use nukes on his on people.

No, fear of registration and confiscation of firearms is not an illogical fear, so long as idiots like him are in government!

Insurance requirement? Guess who would be setting the rates? These people need to stop dancing around the issue and just come out and say it, they want to ban private ownership of guns, period. They are just one Supreme Court away from it.

If you look at the intent of our Second Amendment, among its fascets is to prevent a tyrannical government. Any questions on why the Socialistic Democratic Party is so intent on the tyrannical concept of disarming the American people?

All of the above was the reason we registered as Independants, and IS the reason we now vote 100% Republican.
