Nice looking rifle. Bet it was a fun day. I love squirrel hunting on a lazy day and taking a lunch along to make in the woods while sitting and enjoying the solitude.
Actually, it was "I'm home with JUUUUUUUST enough time....hurry!" and off I went. The rifle had a charge in it, and by golly, even after it was out in the damp weather on Saturday (actually was out for a minute or two in the rain), then brought it in the warm house, then took it Monday, it went off like a champ. Anyway, it was charged, bag was organized, loading block was fully loaded with patched balls, so off I went with about an hour to hunt.
I dearly love getting out after work, though. With a crazy job and stress and such, it's nice to get outside and just sit and let that stuff go for a bit.
Depending on the weather, I'll go again Saturday. I've found this time of year they're more active early and late, and not as much mid-day. Next fall, I really gotta get out mid day in the early season. Since it overlaps archery deer, I don't give up bowhunting time, but I could go mid-day.
You hit the nail on the head. That 1 hour of peace.
I've walked the hill of my hunting area every day the weather isn't raining every day since Sept. The mindset change does wonders for your being.
