Marlin 336 32 special

Model 336 32 special RC and SC. Does anyone know what the RC and SC stands for on these guns? One is a long tube and one shorter. These were my grandparents guns and I have been looking online from some info. Shot at my first deer with the one, 40 years ago missed but still remember it like it yesterday. Gramps was on stand with me that day.

I think they're just model designations...And in a desirable caliber!

Re: Marlin 336 32 special

The SC will have a "half" magazine, wide fore end and the "waffle top" receiver, sans D/T, if not mistaken?

I have one in 35 Rem, circa 1950 or thereabouts. Great rifle to tote and very accurate. An uncle had an identical rifle in 32 Spl. but I wasn't able to get my paws on it when he passed away. It went to one of his grand daughters.

Love the .32 spec. But a friend after a long hunt just bought a box of .32 spec. And had to pay almost $35.00 for them. Very scarce and expensive now days

Re: Marlin 336 32 special

336 RC mfg.1969 on left .35 Rem.
336 SC mfg.1960 on right .32 Spl
The 336 SC's were drilled and taped at Marlin in 1956 and on.
Killed many a deer with the 32 Spl.

Re: Marlin 336 32 special

Beautiful guns! I have a Marlin 336 in 30-30. I'm not sure of the year it was manufactured though. I guess I could look on line by the serial number to determine that.

My grandfather owned a Winchester 94 in 32 special. My cousin has it now.

The horizon is your starting point.
