Vortex Strikefire

Was at the show yesterday in Harrisburg. Little disappointed because there was a few sights I wanted to see before I bought. So the gentleman euro-optics stand was very happy to talk with me, about a few of the sights I had on my list. After looking at three sights, I told him I am still needing to see a few others.

Well after looking around I decided on the Strikfire. The option of having both red and green dots sold me. Now having it on the AR its looks good. It also has a 2X tube for longer distances. The base is also set up for a lower 1/3 co-witness. Anybody else have this sight?

Re: Vortex Strikefire

I have the red only model. Per the research I did before buying...the red only is much brighter. The dot is 4 moa, which sounds big, but I don't think it's too big. Love the way it cowitnesses with a magpul rear and A2 front sight. So far so good.

Re: Vortex Strikefire

I have one on one of my AR's and have had no issues with it. If you look around, they can be had for $119 new right now. I have a feeling Vortex is closing them out and introducing a new model.

Re: Vortex Strikefire

Yeah they are discontinued for the Strikefire II which is coming out this spring. I even said to the gentleman at the stand why would they wait for spring to release a newer sight? He had no answer. I paid $130 for mine, another stand at the show was asking $160. I checked Ebay, the cheapest one there was $150. Both red and green are bright on their highest setting. But I do prefer the green over the red. The dot is not to big for me as well. I looked at a 2 and 3 MOA dot. I plan on getting a set of Magpul Pro BUIS later time.

Re: Vortex Strikefire

Mine isn't bright enough in daylight conditions, and the threaded bolt on the mount broke. I'm sure they'll warranty the mount if I ever get around to calling.

Re: Vortex Strikefire

I have the sight and I really like it, the green/red dot is good for different lighting conditions. The only problem I have with the Strikefire is when you put on the magnifier, you cant use your BUIS. Granted this isnt a huge deal, just me being picky.
I would also like to get a different mount, the mount that came with the sights is a little high for my liking.

Go here and fill out their form, put it in a box and ship it to them. That's what their video tells you to do!
