So my mom called me today and said she is trying to clean out her closet and get rid of stuff. While doing this she found a gun in there she forgot she had. To provide some background she goes to multiple gun raffles and banquets with my step-dad every year and usually wins one to two guns a year. Apparently my step-dad had no interest in this one so it has sat in the closet for many years. So my mom called and asked me if I would like it, only knowing it was a "gun" I said yes as I have never met one I didn't like. So I went over and was given this little beauty, its a Marlin lever action .450 Marlin. I have never heard of the caliber before but based on the diameter of the barrel I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it packs a punch and a good kick. I'm going to leave it like it is (no scope), throw a sling on it and take it for a walk in the PA bear woods, or maybe for squirrel (just kidding). Hope you enjoy the pics as much as I am the gun. Can anyone recommend some bear ammo for this gun? Thanks guys.
it means it was made by marlin, not Remington like the new marlins are. they are worth more. I heard a lot of bad things about the Remington made marlins. so since its a "real" marlin you made out great. im sure that thing will shoot great. I have an old marlin 336 3030 that shoots three slugs into a cloverleaf.
