Re: Old Savage...

Neat old guns !!

They also came in .22 hornet & .25-20 Win. You could also get 12, 16 and 20 gauge shotgun barrels for them.

They're a tad bit collectible. But not very pricey.

A nice Hornet will fetch around $400. A .25-20 $700-800-ish while the .30-30's are in the $250-300 range.

Re: Old Savage...

Very neat old guns, and accurate too. produced from 1938-65. Not worth a lot, but nice. They changed it in 1966, put the lever on the side instead of on top. Only made that way for a year or two and that was the end of the model.

Re: Old Savage...

I have one that was my grandfather's. I have the 30/30 and 20 gauge barrels for it. I carried the 30/30 my first year hunting.

Re: Old Savage...

It would make an ideal Kid/Women`s Deer Rifle. Too bad they are not made anymore....

Re: Old Savage...

I have one in 30-30 also. Haven't taken it out to shoot it yet, although I got it about 6 years ago. You got me thinking I will have to go to the range this weekend.
