AR sight

I bought a Bushmaster AR to use in military shoots. Unfortunately my old eyes won't work with iron sights. Trying to decide putting optics on it or selling. What optics are you using on your ARs?

Re: AR sight

Every AR I own has some type of optic on it. What are the distances you are going to be shooting?

Re: AR sight

I have an Eotech on my carbine and love it, but they don't have any magnification so that probably wouldn't help much with your eyesight situation. They make a 3x magnifier now that flips to the side, but between the 2 your talking a good chunk of change. Before I went that way I think I'd get a 3x ACOG. Also very expensive, but I'm sure somebody makes a good quality knockoff, but off hand I don't know who. The aimpoints are another good option.

The Second Ammendment...
Its kind of a big deal.

I have the vortex strikefire and love it. Get the red only model. The red green version has some issues. It comes with a high mount and 2x doubler for about $170

Re: AR sight

I have an Eotech on my Mini-14. It's a great sight but with my old eyes I see three dots instead of just the one that's actually there.
It still works great for quick acquisition shots out to 100yds but if you're looking for precision beyond 100, I'd go with a scope.

Re: AR sight

I probably won't be shooting much over 100 yds. Would like a little magnificence be rather not a scope. I'm a little familiar with some of the high end stuff but don't want to spend that much. Keep the ideas coming. Thanks.
