I'm looking at a late 80's model Citori to buy with the high gloss epoxy type finish. The problem is there are several pretty good scratches on the stock, none appear to go all the way to the wood. I know I can have the stock refinished but I have searched online and some suggest scratches can be repaired by basically buffing them out.
The reviews on this process are mixed and I contacted s few gunsmiths who are split on the effectiveness of this option.
My question is does anyone have any first hand knowledge of successfully repairing scratches on this type of stock themselves or by a gunsmith?
