7mm 08 reduced recoil ?

I just ordered a Rem 700 sps Camo compact in 7mm 08 for my kids. Seen there was some reduced recoil bullets. Remington makes them but I cant find them anywhere, Hornady makes some and cabelas has them. Anybody use them yet?

If you or someone you know reloads you can make your own. I did for my wife. They don't kick any more than a 243.

Re: 7mm 08 reduced recoil ?

my kids used rem 7mm08 reduced recoil and it worked great for them and I was told out to 100 yards it doesn't make any difference but after 100 yds it starts to drop off pretty good

Re: 7mm 08 reduced recoil ?

HuntRod, bought some for my 12 year-old daughter last year. The difference in perceived recoil vs. standard 140 grain CoreLokts was remarkable. The bullets hit about 3 inches lower at 100 yards, but after a quick sight adjustment, they were dead on. My daughter killed a doe at 60 yards last year, and the round proved very effective. This year, she shot about 10 shots from various positions and never once commented on the "kick." Miller's Gun Shop in Mill Hall, had the shells before season.

The 120gr nosler bt would make a killer reduced load if you reload. I'm surprised remington still uses the 140 gr for their managed recoil stuff.

If you reload,120 gr ballsitic tip with a reduced charge of H4895 makes a nice starter load.
