Winchester 1500 XTR Question

My uncle brought out one of his old guns today at a family gathering, an old Winchester 1500 XTR. When he last shot it, the forearm broke off in his hand. He's been less than successful finding a replacement for it.

I did a little digging for him, and I think that the furniture for a 1400 would fit on this gun. Can anyone on here confirm this?

If this is not the case, does anyone have any suggestions for a viable replacement? This gun has sentimental value to him, so he's even be willing to buy a parts gun just to get the forearm if need be.

Re: Winchester 1500 XTR Question

Yes 1400 will work. The cut in serial numbers for the 1400 is 400,000 for new model or old. If his 1500 SN is above 400,000 any late model 1400 forearm will work.

Re: Winchester 1500 XTR Question

Thanks Joe... The serial number is 037378. That means if we are able to locate it, we would need parts from a 1400 that is numbered less than 399999, right?

Re: Winchester 1500 XTR Question

Yep. Also, look for forearms for a Sears model 200, which is the same gun. A lot of times people don't look twice at the stocks that say " Sears", but the shotgun will never know the difference, LOL !

Re: Winchester 1500 XTR Question

Thanks Joe! I'll pass that on and hopefully we'll have more luck locating a new forearm.
