Ruger American Compact

I just picked one up in 7-08.

Great value and it shot great. First two groups at 100 yards were .62 and .80. What a deal for $299 minus 20 in club points at Cabelas using my Club Card.

The trigger is good, the clip is great and it looks really nice also, ohhh and it only weighs six pounds or so. The recoil pad socks up what little recoil there is!

Just thought I would recommend it if anyone is thinking of buying one with their Xmas bucks and or as a gift.

Re: Ruger American Compact

I wish they would make one chambered for 223 Remington. It would be the perfect truck gun for me.

Re: Ruger American Compact

SS would be nice, but I could care less about a camo stock.

I just looked at the Ruger site and they are making them with SS tubes. I know what my next rifle will be.

Re: Ruger American Compact

Then I betcha a camo stock is next. There is nothing better than a georgous walnut stock. But I think camo looks good and cool. The standard black syn stocks look bland and cheap.

Re: Ruger American Compact

That's because it is bland and cheap . The camo stock will be nothing but the same stock with a 50-60 buck price increase I need to come up with a camo pattern, have a hot girl model it with a gun/bow. Have her shoot a couple 160+ pen raised bucks, then sell the rights to the gun/bow companies.
