Rem 770 stock breaks.

My firewood customer showed me the 770 he bought just 2 weeks ago and only hunted with twice that broke right at the rear swivel stud boss.He said he was just walkin along and the gun went right to the ground.Like the G/MTN post they would do nothing for him so he called Rem.and all they said they could do is send him a replacement stock. He is not happy to say the least and I don,t think he will be able to handle the repair correctly and safely.

Re: Rem 770 stock breaks.

How is it broken? Did the stud pull out, wood chunk break away? Did the stud itself break?

Good luck, Tony

Re: Rem 770 stock breaks.

The plastic stock at the swivel stud broke away from the stock. The stud would have been hangin from the sling swivel. He said Remmy told him that this is a problem they are having a lot of.

That's because the 770s seem like junk just my opinion the bolts are horribly sloppy etc

Re: Rem 770 stock breaks.

That particular model is a piece of trash. Remington still makes some decent stuff, that is not one of them. It is as cheap as cheap can get, then back off two notches. You can paddle a canoe with them if you get stranded on the water LOL!
