Let's see those wood & blued favorites !!!!

The other post kinda got me going.......... and thinking about nice sticks of walnut and deep, alllllmost black, deep bluing.

Let's see pics of your favorite(s) !!

Here's a (I think) custom shop Model 94 AE in 7-30 Waters. The perticular combo of being BOTH a carbine AND checkered with crotch-feather wood leads me to believe this was not an assembly line gun. Whatever it is......... It's one of my favorites. (Apologies for the cruddy pics. They don't even come CLOSE to doing the wood justice)

Here is one for you. Full custom pre-64 Model 70. Frank Pachmayr custom from the Los Angeles shop. Its my baby, like me getting older but still working fine. The wood is American walnut, exhibition.

Those rifles posted so far are some sweet looking rifles! Here's my contribution, a Winchester m70 Supergrade, 264WM:

Twist, what is the story(info) of that gun? No checkering or engraving. Great wood. I love my 37's.

Re: Let's see those wood & blued favorites !!!!

in 1975 Ithaca has an excess of supreme grade wood.
they decided to make 1000 guns that would only be available through the sales execs.
the guns were all 12G with 28" mod choked vent rib barrels ,the receivers as well as the supreme grade would be plain and uncheckered.
I believe the intention was for them to be blank "money" guns the buyer could then have engraved or checkered.
