old pump 35 rem.

i cant get shells to feed up the tube when i try to load it ..anyone know what might be wrong ?

can we assume it is either a model 14 or a 141. does it have a sort of fluted magazine tube?

The spiral magazine was made so the tip of the bullet did not hit the primer of the shell above it.
Sounds like it needs taken a part and cleaned

My dads 141 did that a few years.Dirt and grime had built up and the spring was hanging up,not compressing.
A good cleaning and it works fine.

sounds like rust on the inside of the twisted mag tube. a cleaning and then run a ball of fine steel wool thru...does it hang up? that is usually rust. there is alos a mag follower, sort of a cylander thing with a hole in it. the spring rides in the back of the cup and the cartridges push on the front of the cup, if it is rusty or cruddy then it sticks.

Sounds like the first thing is to take the tube off, then get the spring out and the follower; and clean well, then light oil, I use CLP.
