Savage Edge

Hey all, I'm looking for comments about the new Savage Edge rifles. I'm seriously considering getting one in .223 for coyote hunting. All the reviews I've read so far are very positive.

Thanks

Re: Savage Edge

JaredV....I recently got one in .223 Rem. with the Camo Stock and put a Redfield 3-9X scope on it. I like it very much. I will be using it primarily for Predator Hunting this Fall and Winter and I believe it will be a nice rifle to carry. I loaded up Hornady 60 grain Spire Points and they shoot extremely well. I wanted to try a bullet that wasn't quite so explosive as the V-max that I normally use on Groundhogs. As other reviews will tell you, the trigger is much heavier than the Accu-trigger models that I own, but most of my shooting will be under actual hunting conditions with cold or gloved hands and I probably won't notice it. There really isn't much noticeable creep to it, just a firm pull and nice crisp release. I'm sure I will be satisfied with it. It met my main goals...Light, economical, removable magazine, good varmint caliber, and most of all Accurate!

Re: Savage Edge

I had the Edge in .22-250 up until recently and I had no complaints with it. They use more plastic than I can appreciate but that's how they get the cost down.
