760 base screws

I took these out of the receiver many years ago(probably 27 to be exact) to mount a scope and of course have been misplaced or lost. Can anyone tell me what size these are or where I might find some? I see they have all kinds of screws at Midway but I have no idea what I need for my 760.

Hunting is not a matter of life and death. It's more important than that.

These guys probably have them. I can't remember what size the 760 were. I do know that the 760 and 7600 are different but again I can't remember for sure what size.

Re: 760 base screws

They are all usually the same size, the "filler screws". Stop at any 'smith. he will have a pile of them..probably give you four.
6-48 8-40 and 10-32 are the popular sizes.

BUT older 760s were not drilled and tapped from the factory, so a 'smith could drill and tap them for his favorite size.

Thanks fellows. "Filler Screws"......didn't know what you called them. I'll check at the local shop.

Re: 760 base screws

A lot of gun shops will have them too. Also, if you know someone that has a 760 or 7600 those fillers from their rifle should work as well....if they have them.

You really under estimated the ramifications of the boondoggle you have just perpetrated!
