What do you guys think about the Remington 700 ADL? I see that Dunhams is offering it at $399 with a scope.
I am looking to purchase and upgrade for my son who is in College, it comes in 30-06 and .270 calibers.
I was leaning towards a .308 or 7mm 08 by Savage or Remiongton, just not 100% sure.
My son used to shoot a Remington .260 and I will be lending that gun to his girlfriend who just passed the Hunter Safety course. Need some advice!!!
Primary hunting is Deer and Bear here in PA.
The Remington ADL is a good rifle & will serve him well.
Generally the package scopes are not worth the time & money to sight them in. You may want to upgrade to a better scope.
Good advise, its all a matter of dropping them out the floor plate or knowing the knack of 1/2 cycle to unload them. I have a custom 25x284 from Ultra lite arms and its an adl. Askiing the guy who built it says an adl makes a stiffer stock. On the package scope deal , donate it to someone else and purchase a descent scope.
I think the older ADL Deluxes with the walnut stocks and open sights were one of the finest rifles ever make. They just scream american rifle alonf with the older Win. Model 70 of the same era or older.
