Mosin Nagant 91/30 Safety

I recently "acquired" a mosin nagant, and having checked all the sites I could think of looking for an answer I came on here and hope some one can help.

Is the ANY way that I can decrease the amount of pressure it takes to engage or disengage the safety on this rifle??? I do not see any way other than cutting the spring for the firing pin and do not want to do that if it would affect the shooting capabilities of it.

ANY help would be appreciated...

Thanks

to the best of my knowledge NO. other than the saftey issues they are a fine rifle. not sure if the sniper rifle bolts are different, i'm gonna guess that they arn't.

if you bought it, a trucker brought it

I saw several people post on here before where they welded a ring to the back of the safety.
