Colt 1911 National Match

Hello. I'm buying a Colt National Match .45. It is chromed, which I believe has to be aftermarket. It is a little rough, but I'm getting a good price and plan to shoot it alot. My question is this, is there any way to safely dechrome the gun? Is it expensive if so. And did Colt ever make a chrome NM .45? Thanks for the info.

Re: Colt 1911 National Match

No interest. As an aside I think this might be an original 1930s National Match. The serial number is C1769XX. If so, I did very well on it (inadvertently). I thought it was a newer beater, but now wonder.
