Question about 30-40 Krag

Hey guys I have a 30-40 Krag that came from my great great grandfather that has seen better days. It was burned up in a fire while my Great uncle had it was sporterized and brought back to shooting condition, and left go to the point of it needs some tlc to be ready to shoot again. I would like to make a reliable hunting rifle out of it. I was just wondering if any of you knew a reasonable smith that could do a good job on it.

If the landing gear ain't down I ain't shootin

Re: Question about 30-40 Krag

All you really need is a good scope mount. Mine is a cut-down (based on the '03 front sight)and wears a S&K insta-mount. I'd recommend the S&K system. It shoots great with 180 gr Hornady spire points.
