full size 45ACP recommendations??

im looking at full size 1911 frames or similar size 45ACP pistols. today i looked at a taurus, para, and remington. all were around $650 new. also looking at ruger, rock island, EAA, american classic, auto ordnance, ATI, springfield, S&W, beretta. i like the the weight and size of a full size pistol. using it mainly just to keep in vehicle and target shooting. price range from $300 to $750 for a new pistol. the lower the price the better. thanks for any replies

Springfield armory .45's are awesome, they don't cost as much as a Kimber but you get great reliability and performance. I have there GI model, I haven't had any problems or failures, and it shoots accurately. I am very pleased with it. Good luck with your search.

Re: full size 45ACP recommendations??

i decided on a Para 1911 GI Expert. Spur of the moment buy at Grices Gun Shop in Clearfield. the only problem that i will likely have is the finish isnt very hardy but i didnt buy it for looks i bought it to shoot and will likely get i parkerized at some point. about $600 out the door for the gun and 3 boxes of shells

In that price range, I'd go with a Springfield Armory.

For a little bit more (and very much worth it), I shoot Kimbers.
