Remington 760 ?

Ok Guys, I have a Remington 760 carbine that I have had for over 40 years. The front forearm piece has become very loose.I took it to local gun shop and he said that there really is no way to tighten it, like there is on a 7600.I love this gun and would hate to retire it. What do you think?

It's breeding,training...and something unknown.

He just doesn't know how. The 760 is about as simple as it gets. Take it to a GUNSMITH, not a gunshop, they will fix you right up !

Re: Remington 760 ?

Do the older guns have the rubber o-ring?? I know the slide changed slightly through the years....

I know often times the rattling is a o-ring that is shot....

I had my whelen slide get really stiff...to the point it was awkwardly tough to operate....dont know if my o- ring was dry or dirt got in...few drops of oil and she was slicker than snot...the gun was bought brand new in box...2005 run i believe...but sat in storage that long so could just needed lubed or dirt got in there....
