Re: Help!!! Otis Cleaning System

Buy a dowel rod that will fit in the bore, then insert it and tap the end with a hammer until you drive out the jag and patch.

I think they do, check out Lowes or a hardware store. They make some pretty thin dowel rods.

They make them as small as 1/8 inch for sure.If you have an air compressor get a rubber tipped blow gun and blow it out.

Re: Help!!! Otis Cleaning System

Im assuming the jag unscrewed or the cable broke. If thats the case i think I would try to drive it out in the same direction it was traveling when it came apart.

Its kind of a big deal.

+1 on blowing it out with an air compressor.

nothing broke- I just didn't make the patch small enough.

Re: Help!!! Otis Cleaning System

Try the otis obstruction removal tool if your kit came with one. I sold my hmr so i don't know if it is too large in diameter.

Re: Help!!! Otis Cleaning System

I had this exact same thing happen last week. It is probably not ideal but the only way I could get it out was to straighten out a coat hanger and drop it down from the muzzle. I then cut it about an inch or two longer than the barrel and tapped it out with a small hammer. Again, not ideal but I could not find any other way to do it.
