Cheap Ammo

Have any of you guys ever tried the "Prvi Partizan" ammo?? If so what do you think of it?? I picked up a box of it yesterday at Cabela's in 7mm08 just to see how it shoots and because it was at least $10 cheaper than any other brand.

Re: Cheap Ammo

I have used it for sighting in a new gun before sending the $35 abox ammo down range ad for plinking, but personally wont hunt with it.

Re: Cheap Ammo

I've shot the 7.62x51mm Match HPBT through a Savage Model 10. It wasn't quite "match" accurate, but for the price it is good stuff to log trigger time with.

I've also shot it in a Mosin Nagant M44. The "Wolf Gold" line of ammo is Prvi, btw. Anyhow, I found the 200gr soft point to perform quite well on two whitetails a handful of years ago.

Re: Cheap Ammo

I just got two boxes of the 223 rounds but didn't try them yet. It says the casings are good for reloading so that's the main reason I got them, and the price of course.

Re: Cheap Ammo

I know a guy that shot a few boxes and really liked them. I feel would be good for practice to save a few bucks for better ammo for hunting.

Re: Cheap Ammo

I got a box of PP 139gr soft points for my Howa 6.5x55 Swede. Fired cases have a lot of fouling on the case necks. It shot well enough that I would use it deer but my rifle liked Hornady's 140gr soft point load better and the case necks were not all fouled.

I also got a box of the PP 180 gr SP for my Dad's 7.65x53 Argentina Mauser. That did not shoot very well but neither did the Hornady 150gr SP. Interestingly, Hornady loaded PP brass for the Mauser.
