An inch high at 100 if that's all the farther I can shoot, or dead on at 200, if I can shoot that far.

I think I'm an alright guy, I think I'm alright

1.75 inches high at 100 and it is 5 inches low at 300, woodchuck accurate out to 300 with no holdover.

Re: 22-250 sight in ?

After you bore sighted or someone boresights the scope for you..start off shooting at a target at 25 yards. Then shoot it at 100 yards... You have the option to leave it at 100 yards but that makes sense it keep it 1.75 or 2 inches high at 100 yards then you can shoot dead on at 200 yard. You will be able to kill a wood chuck easy from point blank out to 200 yards then start to adjust your shots after 200. Check a Remington bullet book to see how much to hold it higher if dead on is at 200 yards. However remember the wind also will come into play at your impact spots on long distance shots..

Re: 22-250 sight in ?

zeroed at 25 yds will be zero at 275 yds with most 55 gr ammo. it will shoot high in between, probably the highest around 175 yds. always worked for me, but for hogs i always aim center mass. all depends on the load/lentgh of barrel. play with it, thats the fun part imo...

Re: 22-250 sight in ?

Thanks guys popped 11 hogs tonight from 15 yards all the way out to my longest shot so far of about 250. Held on his head and hit his chest. Thanks for the help. I'm shooting 45 gr Winchester jhp. No matter the range these bullets are leaving some massive holes!

Re: 22-250 sight in ?

I just sighted it in dead on at 100 yards because thats my average shot, then I adjust on the longer ones. Buckeroo I still have that 17 hmr. Pm me an offer on it, maybe we can work something out.

Rambo, I am working on a .17 Fireball deal. I already have a .17 HMR. If the wife ever finds the key to my gun safe I might get into ALOT of TROUBLE!!!

Re: 22-250 sight in ?

Just keep it around 1.5 inches high at 100 yards and you'll be happy for the rest of your life. About dead on at 200 and around 5 or so inches low at 300. YOU don't want to shoot at hogs much past 300 with that little 50 grainer, it's not that you won't hit them but they usually run in the hole at take their dirt nap...maybe if you shoot and rebarrel to a fast twist and shoot some heavier bullets you could extend that well past 400 for the little .224 cal bullet. If I had to pick one small game cartridge for all my varmint work it would be the 22/250, an awesome cartridge.
