Ruger American rifle...

I just won one at a Whitetails Unlimited dinner! Never shot on before anyone have one or shot one?

will hunt for food....

I would venture to say not too many people have shot them, I think they just came out.

Look like a nice, inexpensive starter rifle.
What caliber did you win?

I like that they have a short bolt lift like on brownings and weatherbys. Never shot one though.

my buddy won the exact same gun and caliber at a gun bash over the winter. he threw a redfield 4x12x40 on her and for a 400 dollar retail priced gun it shoots nice. his only complaint is the plastic clip. but for a rainy day gun when you wanna keep your nice one out of the elements its nice to have a backup gun like that
