1187 problems

My 1187 has an issue that I cant figure out. Took it to gun shop and they said works fine for them.

The gun jams on the 3rd shot EVERY TIME. The shell comes out of the tube and sits at the angle to go into the barrel but wont go into barrel. Its always just the third shell. Have used 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells and same problems.

Any help would be appreciated. I had thought that maybe the tube spring is worn out but dont know if that could have anything to do with it at all.

Re: 1187 problems

I had a problem with my 1187 and it was the mag spring ,the shell coming OUT of the mag has to hit a release HARD enough to work the action properly. I dont know is that your problem but mught be worth a try at the 3rd shot the spring would at its weakest ,I remove my spring now while the gun is stored ,, that was the spring is NOT compressed when not in use .Also make sure the mag tube in Clean and the follower moves freely

Re: 1187 problems

It could be it just needs a good cleaning..Semis are known to build crude in their mechanisms and it will slow them down and jam them...

Re: 1187 problems

Do you have the teflon O-Ring on the tube? If it was broke or forgotten, as soon as she heats up you get problems.
