Ruger Hawkeye .300 Win Mag

OK. Im going a little crazy these days. I'm seeing if I did well or poorly. I just picked up a Hawkeye Sporter in .300 Win Mag, Stainless with a grey laminated stock. It came with a Redfield 3X9, hard case and 2 boxes of ammo and is as new. I have never owned a Ruger centerfire and wonder if they are as good as they seem. And I'm not really sure what I'm gonna use this thing for. It was too pretty to say no. And no, I don't want to sell it.

Ruger makes a rifle that's built like a brick outhouse. I seriously don't know of a sturdier rifle made today. And Ruger understands stock design and styling. Ruger's just plain look great. I haven't had problems shooting at the range with M77's either.

Re: Ruger Hawkeye .300 Win Mag

I bought my first Ruger rifle when they came out with their skeleton stock. Honestly, I bought it to beat up on tough hunts to save wear and tear on nicer wood stock guns. I liked it so much I began using it everywhere for everything, and the accuracy is top notch. Now 12 or so years later, it has become one of my favorites. Ruger is a great rifle.

I might take it out to the range this weekend. I think I did pretty good.
