Gun trivia

My wife plays Scrabble on the computer, the other night she asks me what a Gat was. I told her that I had heard the term used on the history channel as an abbreviation for the Gattling gun and also a term used during probation to describe the Thompson sub machine gun.

The other night I was watching Gangland and a gang member refereed to a handgun as a Gat, I Goggled it and guess what now Gat is a term used for any firearm.

Just goes to show if you say something wrong long enough it will be excepted language.

Re: Gun trivia

Gat was a slang term in the old days for any gun. The modern drug gangs have resurrected the term, as they see themselves as peers to the old timers.
There really is an " Urban Dictionary". If you Google it you decipher just what all these people " ARE SAYIN" .
