Kimber Vs, Springfield Armory

Allright. Here is to spirited debate. I have a choice between carrying a Kimber Pro Carry II or a Springfield Armory Champion Operator. Both are 4" .45s, both blued. The SA has ambi safety, light rail and night sights. The Kimber has plain sights but is a Kimber. Which should I go with. And what a great problem to have...

Everything I have ever known about Kimber is they are top quality. I dont have much info on the Springfield, Guess without taking them to the range, i would take the kimber.

It may be a poor choice of words but I am smart enough to understand what you meant.

Both about equal with each other.... I prefer night sights .... We have sigs where I work with night sights and they definately make a difference in low light conditions.

The night sites are why I went with the SA initially. I'm liking the Kimber more and more though. Other thing is that SA has among the best customer service of ANY company I've ever dealt with. Both guns are made in the USA.

Re: Kimber Vs, Springfield Armory

I had a Springfield Champion and Kimber CDP. Both were reliable but I think the Kimber offered better quality.

If you compare them side by side I think you would go with the Kimber. If you want nite sights you can always add them later.

There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn't true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.

I've had both and the Kimber is the better of the two guns. Good luck!

Re: Kimber Vs, Springfield Armory

I agree on the Kimber (Have 3) but the Springfield's are great guns to (have 4). Kimber is better made but the springfields are not far off. See what fits your hand and budget then go from there. Comfort in hand is different with everybody.

Good luck Jay

Re: Kimber Vs, Springfield Armory

Springfield slides and frames are made in BRAZIL. They are assembled in the USA.

I don't know where the rest of their parts come from.

I would buy the kimber.

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.

Re: Kimber Vs, Springfield Armory

I own a lot of 1911s and have customized quite a few others. The only one of mine I've ever had trouble with was my Kimber. I recommend the Springfield. Brazilian steel is top quality, too.
