Composite stock

I want to put a composite stock on my 03A3 springfield sporter in 308 norma mag. Anyone have a suggestion as to where to start looking. I have no experience at all with composite stocks. I'm pretty handy, can I do this myself or will a experienced installer have to do it? I have done some wood stock work that turned out OK.

Re: Composite stock

Try this link, they have one listed in black synthetic. It's about half way down the page. http://www.thecountryshed.com/ramline_rifle_stocks.htm

Re: Composite stock

HS Precision, McMillan, Manners, or even Bell &Carlson make some of the better ones out there.

Not a big fan of the tupperware stocks like the ramline.

Re: Composite stock

I'm not familiar with ramline myself, that's what came up in a quick goggle search. I on the other hand, have a Bell&Carlson on my Remington 700, top notch product. And I see they do make a replacement for the 1903.
