Any solvent or product recommendations?

Anyone have any recommendations? is there a way to tell how bad your barrell is? I have a gun thats prob 40 - 50 years old that has been cleaned with traditional brushes and such for all of its life and with either break free CLP or hoppes. The gun is accurate so i dont want to 'rock the boat' and 'unseason' the barrell. But i also want to get the gook out and fouling. I liken gun scrubber to like a cleanse for a motor..it can knock all the loose bits and make things worse.

Take it to a gunsmith and have him bore scope it. This will show its exact condition and cost should be reasonable.
