BLR Bear Gun

I am going to buy a Browning BLR next year for bear season. I am torn between a 358 winchester and a 325 wsm. Any thoughts?

Re: BLR Bear Gun

A friend has a BLR in .358. A great combination. I always thought it was a great round for deer and bear in places like PA and ME.

Re: BLR Bear Gun

My father has an older .308 in a BLR. Very accurate rifle! As for your calibers, I like the.358 Win. This is coming from a big .35 Whelen fan!

Another vote for the .358-it's a catridge that always interested me.

Re: BLR Bear Gun

I would love a BLR lightweight '81 in .358 Winchester. I think it would make a fine deer and bear rifle. I handled one at a gun shop and really like it. Seen one in .358 new in box at a gun show in September and they wanted $650 for it. I'm personally not a big fan of the pistol grip schnabel forearm variety as far as looks go.

Re: BLR Bear Gun

I have a friend who owns a BLR in 358 Win. He LOVES it even more after bagging his Bear with it last Saturday! I would pick the 358 Win. myself over the 325 WSM.
