130 or 150

i will be shooting a 270 for deer and was wondering if 150 grain or 130 are beter for deer

Shane, you will do fine with either. I always prefer heavier bullets, but 130's will do the job quite well.

When I was younger, the heavier the better, but as I got older, I realized the lighter bullets recoiled a bit less and the deer died just the same.

I would go with the tried and true 130 Gr. for Deer. For Bear I would stick with the 150 Gr. IMO they hold together and penetrate through heavy bone and muscle better. I would save the 150's for Bear season and buy some 130's for Deer.

I've always used 130s in all my 270 Wins and 270-08s, but I doubt at typical 'tail ranges it matters much if at all.

130 corelokts are deer hammers. got lots of deer with them.
