Marlin 336 scoped update

On a previous post, I got some recommendations for outfitting this lever action so my buddy ordered me a Luoplod FX 11 2.5 x 20 mm ultralight with Tally rings and because he works in SWAT, I had him install & sight in this gun.

I can't wait to shoot this gun because when I pick it up I can get onto the sight picture real quick.

Re: Marlin 336 scoped update

I hope you are going to sight the gun in yourself after. When I was a kid my dad would sight in then we would dial it in from there with my shooting. Everyone shoots differently

On a side note, nice looking scope

rain and snow, and running deer are just twp reasons to hunt without a scope!

Re: Marlin 336 scoped update

I would have chose something besides a leupold. Personally I think marlin 336's look best with a good old fashion weaver k series scope. That's what is on mine and I couldn't ask for better.

You can't get em from the couch.

Re: Marlin 336 scoped update

Unfortunately, the old Weaver scopes are outdated and all mine seemed to have developed problems through the years..Nice from a nostalgic point of view but not practical from a serious hunting perspective...The Leupold is the way to go.

And as far as using open sights, for young eyes they are fine but these days you couldn't pay me to hunt with any open sights other than the course, heavy ones that are on my T/C flintlock..Need a scope.
