LEUPOLDS ON CLEARANCE!

I have never bought a leupold, until tonight. I went into cabellas bargain cave and they have leupold vxiis 3x9x40 for 239, with free shipping and a free lense pen. that is less than most want for a used vxii. just thought others might like to know. at 299 i am not a buyer, but at 239 i do not think you can buy a better scope, especially in silver color.

You will love it, and regret not getting two. Thats a good deal.

Great prices on great scopes. I paid $524 for my VXIII a few years ago.

Leupold are tough to beat at the price point for what you get.

I'm not disputing the quality of Leupold scopes, but I think you pay a premium for them. Up to and including the VX3 line, I would say they are priced about 20-25% above their competitors. I haven't looked into their high end offerings that much, but I believe they are more competitively priced.

I think $240 for a VXII is probably a decent deal, although I'm not sure that you couldn't do better with another brand.

I certainly agree that at normal retail pricing you do better to spend your money on something other than the VXII. You can get an "open box special" on a Minox ZA3 for $290. The VXII can't compete with that.

My next scope may be a Leupold, probably a VX3 or FX3. I have to admit that the purchase would be because I want to have a Leupold. I think the Meopta Meopro/ Cabela's Euro and Minox offerings easily compete with the VX3 and the Sightron SII Big Sky probably does everything the FX3 does for less... but something in me tells me I should have a Leupy.

I felt the same way and bought one last year. I put in on my go to rifle.

However, it is not quite as good as my Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40. I tried them side by side. The Zeiss is clearly better.

I got it at Cabelas for $399 - $75 = $326. I used one of the discount cards they had last year and every year up until this year were you got 100 off 500 etc. Did anyone else get one of these?

My Zeiss is back on my goto rifle.
