It has a hole you stick the case through and a stud on the other handle seats the primer. Then there is an enclosed hole next to that that works as a seating die. That is non adjustable so you have to select bullets that work with it as far as lining up crimping grooves goes. It does not crimp. The bullet fits snug as there is a slight resizing of the case done and the tool relies on a case full of blackpowder ( smokeless would work if a filler is used) so the bullet can't recess into the case in the magazine tube. There is a decapper that was sold with these when new but they always seem to be long gone so I decap with a tool from a Lee loader kit.

joined your club yesterday and picked up this 1892 in 38-40. it was built in 1903. its in pretty good shape and shoots good. hope to put a lot of rounds through it this weekend.
