Do you reload? If not I would look else where. I do not know much about the round specifically but do know its not something you are going to pickup at a local shop if you leave your ammo at home or mistakenly thought you had an extra box in the safe.

Are you talking about a .358 win which is just a necked-up .308?If so, I was on Grice's website the other day and it looks like they have some in Ruger American.I had a .338 federal built on Rem model 7 action and it's a pretty cool mid range hammer.

In the several tests I have read over the years a longer bullet does much better than a shorter stubby bullets. Think 160 gr. 6.5 bullet. Long for caliber. Outside of that I always liked the 358W. Pretty efficient. Considering limited capacity, even better the 35 Whelen.

Nay...……….there is no such cartridge as the .358 Winchester Mag.

Yay...……...The .358 Winchester is a superb close to medium range deer, bear, elk round.

I'd love to have one in a Weatherby Vanguard Carbine...……...except they don't make one. I'm lukewarm on the Ruger American. Not enough love there for me to buy one.

I have a BLR in .358. It shoots a lot better than this old fart.

Just have one made.Pick up a cheap, used short action and have it re-barreled for about $500.Either that or just take a .308 and send it to JES reboring for $225.

Ruger has a brand new carbine 358 for 400.00 that caught my eye along with a weatherby carbine in 70-08 .

I just love the carbines compact size especially on the east cost thick Forrest’s .

Really like the 35s including the 358 win. Ammo not hard to find on the net if you don't reload.
