I have purchased a rifle at the Hamburg store. I guess it depends on when you go, but expect a wait. They do run sales, but expect that a good sale will also increase business. Their process seems to be slow, lots of people involved, extra paperwork, etc... Certainly not as quick as a local gun shop. It couldn't hurt to call ahead. I think that you can also order guns online now and pick them up in the store. So you know that it's going to be there. That might cut down on some of the wait, I don't know.
This is just my experience, but I've heard others tell similar stories: 2 years ago I was looking to buy a varmint rifle they had on sale. I was there on a Friday afternoon, and I had to take a number (like at the deli counter) to get a salesperson to help me. Wait was roughly 30mins. I went in wanting the Remington 700 ADL, but while I was there I decided to also look at a Savage 12FV that was also on sale. I ended up liking the Savage better and it was less expensive so I bought it. Salesman hands you over to another person that conducts the background check and such. Fill out your information on a computer and then you wait for them to run your background check. There was a few people "on line" in front of me so I waited. Long story short, it took them over an hour to do background, paperwork, remove gun from inventory, etc... So from the time I walked in the door to walking out with my gun was roughly 2 hours. Once again, this was a Friday afternoon(roughly 2pm). I would not even try to go on a weekend, but that's just me.
