Thats a tang safety? Those bring more money and the .257 is an unusual calibre, not rare, but worth more than something more mainstream. Still, it all depends on condition but a nice one probably $750 bare, add a little for the scope.
I think he is referring to the "RL" model, also know as a "UL" because of the slimmer stock, slimmer barrel contour and shorter barrel length.
77R=standard model, no sights, standard length/weight barrel/stock
77RS=standard model, with sights, standard length/weight barrel/stock
77V=heavy contour barrel
77RL=no sights, light barrel contour, short barrel, slimmed down stock forend, ebony tip cap
77RLS=sights, light barrel contour, short barrel, slimmed down stock forend, ebony tip cap
77RSI=sights, short barrel, full length stock
what would be a good price for this rifle? it has a 3x9 burris on top.serial # says it was made in 1986.
The last 77RL tang safety I bought was a clean .243 with a junk scope on it. I dont remember exactly how much I paid but I know it was not more then $500.00 a few years ago. I have seen them marked up to $700.00, personally I wouldnt pay that much.
