.280 Remington Factory Load Ammo Recommendation

All,

I am looking for recommendations for factory loaded ammo for my .280. I have a browning X-Bolt and I'm currently using Federal 150 gr. NP. Just wanted to see what others have had and with great success.

Every gun is different. What will drive tacks for you may be all over the place in another gun. The best thing is to try different brands and bullet weight and type, or load your own to get exactly what your gun likes.

Not much in the way of choices. All I could ever find were 140 grain Core-Lokts. I decided a 270 was just as good and much cheaper to shoot with a better ammo selection to boot.

I'm partial to anything with Sierra Gamekings, Nosler Partitions, or Ballistic Silvertips. I find them to be accurate in most rifles if I get the barrel twist to bullet weight right. I just swapped from 156gr. .280s that I bought outside of the three mentioned to 140gr. Winchester Ballistic Silvertips for an upcoming antelope hunt, and expect to take 3-5 whitetail with them this Fall, too. My .280 is a Model 70 Featherweight, so I'm not even trying to develop heavy for caliber handloads, but I do have some 154gr. SSTs I want to load up and try for it after season is over.
