This is a Browning BLR 7mm-08. I've wanted one of these for years. As soon as I got it I had Neil Jones in Saegertown give it a nice crisp trigger. I also wanted a compact scope that didn't break the bank so I finally decided on a Field & Stream 4x32 Shotgun scope. I really like it so I had to share a pic. : )
The scope is less than 9 inches long and is parallax free at 75 yards. If it can handle the recoil of a 12 gauge it should be good here. It also took a couple tries to get a compact scope with the right eye relief.
Nice rifle. I have one also in .308, has a vintage Redfield 3x9 on it. Too nice to take out in the woods.
That 44.99 scope makes me a little uneasy, but good luck with it.
My fingers are crossed. So far so good. I know for a fact that of all the scopes my dad has on his guns that lasted him a lifetime I'm sure they were all the cheapest ones he could get. Don't make them like they used to? Oh well we'll see. I feel like a $50 scope has a chance. Especially a fixed power.
I bought a 308 BLR back in the late 80s. It’s been my Pa deer rifle ever since. Got a .300 WSM BLR in 2004. I killed 9 bull moose and 4 elk with it. I was offered a trade of a free hunt for it...I passed. Black and grey laminated stock, brushed stainless finish, with a top end Burris scope.
