Tikka T3

Anyone have any opinions about these rifles? I was reading about them in Field & Stream and was considering getting one but wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on them.

We have two in the house. One is a .270WSM and the other an '06. Accurate and dependable.

Our forefathers didn't bury their guns. They buried those that tried to take them.

That's what F&S said and at a reasonable price which are two things that attracted me to this gun.

Re: Tikka T3

I've had a 25-06 for about 5 years and its the best shooting rifle I've ever owned. I have an uncle who has 3 different ones and also just loves them. I'll never buy another Remington its Tikka's only for me and my kids.

1 OF THE BEST SHOOTERS I HAVE OWNED, ALTHOUGH WONT JUST ABOUT ANY GUN THESE DAYS SHOOT? I SEE ALOT OF PEOPLE STATE OUT OF THE BOX ACCURACY THIS AND OUT OF THE BOX ACCURACY THAT, I HAVE OWNED HUNDREDS OF RIFLES AND HAVE ONLY FOUND TWO THAT I COULD NOT GET TO SHOOT LESS THAN 1 1/2 INCHES. SO MY POINT BEING I THINK IT IS OPPINION AND FEEL MORE THAN WILL THEY SHOOT. I THINK THEY ALL SHOOT.

Re: Tikka T3

1-1/2" groups regularly is good accuracy. 3/4" groups regularly is why I like the Tikka T-3 rifles.
I bought the .270WSM and the gun shop gave me a box of Winchester 150gr PowerPoint ammo with it. I use handloads but I figured I'll use the factory ammo to break in the barrel. I cleaned the barrel, dried it good and fired a shot, cleaned-dried and fired a shot, again, again and again. (Not sure if it helps but I have had good luck over the years doing that routine) I bore sighted the rifle and was not turning dials, I just wanted to get the process done but those first 5 shots went into a 3/4" group albeit not dead center. With handloads it is a 1/2" rifle.

The '06 is no different.

Re: Tikka T3

I have one in .243. It shot 3/4 groups , using the blue box Federals, right out of the box. I really like the palm swell on the stock.
