I'm looking to purchase my first handgun. Found one used but good shape for $300... extra mag, case, and the factory accessories (mag loader, holster, dual mag pouch). Seems to be a good price. Should I bite?

My original intentions were to spend $80 and rent 3 guns to shoot, then buy the one that feels right. I know that's the safe move but is this a deal I shouldn't pass up?

I don't know that I'd call that a steal, but that's a very good deal. Seems that I normally see them closer the $400 ballpark. Springfield makes a solid, reliable pistol IMO, and they don't have the molded finger grips like the Glocks do, which lends itself to a more universal fit.

Yes, in most cases you should find out what feels good in your hand prior to buying, but at that price, I'd go for it. You should at least be able to get your money back if you don't like it.

Don't think you'll do much better than that. They're good quality IMO

Picked it up this afternoon. I'm a happy camper! I'll pickup some ammo and properly introduce myself to her at the range next weekend.

I've put about 80 rounds down the pipe so far... first ever with a handgun and I'm mostly teaching myself (YouTube, PDN, and a ton of free online resources)....I'll get some formal training in April, I think. Anyway, here's what I did on my lunch break.... better, but still slapping the trigger at times...14 out of 20 in a four inch group...4 misses off the paper, low.
