Question about Sako 85 or Tikka in 7mm REM

I never had any indention on purchasing a 7mm mag, but came across a deal on one that I just could not resist. Now my question is at the price of ammo I hate to experiment and buy multiple boxes of ammo. I don’t even know if I would like the 7REM. The guy that sold me the7mm told me that he never shot it. So he has no input on what weight bullets to try. So my questions is what to the guys that have Tikka T3 or Sako in 7mm mag find that shoot the best in their rifle so I can get a starting point to try.

I had no desire to own a 7mm Remington Mag. After shelling out that much money to help a friend I felt compelled to shoot the rifle. I changed the scope base and rings and mounted a quality scope on it. I really liked how the gun shouldered and how quick my eye lined up with the scope. I stopped at Walmart and bought 2 boxes of the cheapest ammo. Federal 150 grain blue box and Winchester 140 grain white box. I started out trying to get the rifle to shoot on paper since the scope was not bore sighted. My first shot with the Winchester 140 grain was an inch high and 6 inches to the left. My second shot was almost the same hole. So I figured instead of worrying about zero the gun in I would test for accuracy. I was able to place 4 shots almost in the same hole. So as far as I am concerned why try any more ammo. The rifle didn't like the 24 dollar Federal but loved the 25 dollar Winchester. Now I have to decide weather to keep the rifle or sell it. I would have an easier time deciding if the rifle would not shoot so good. I just have no use for such a high powered rifle at my age.
