Re: 270 for deer

I have a Remington pump in .270. Although I have yet to take a deer with it, it's done great on feral hogs and my brother used it to take his antelope at 260 yds last fall. Great cartridge.

Re: 270 for deer

It is a great caliber for deer. Mine is in a Savage 110 and I have a 3-9X40 on it.

I have an Encore pistol in 270 and it is a tack driver.
I have killed many deer with my 270's and they were all one shot kills.GREAT ROUND!

Re: 270 for deer

They're all great deer calibers. The .270 is a little more "powerful" but not enough to make a big difference. I have a .270 and a .308 and I love them both.
