Older 760 Clip Issues

I had a buddy at my cam last few days and we sat together in my box stand hoping to help him find a buck. Both days after trying to unload had a severe issue of removing his clip. He is an older gentleman so I took his gun and finally got it. Anyone ever had this with an older 760? I'm a 700 guy and don't have any experience with clips.

It could very well just need a good cleaning. Over the years dirt, soot and any variety of gunk can build up and limit the travel of the magazine latch or spring.

I shoot an older 760, first make sure the clip he is using is indeed a 760 clip not a 7600 clip. The differences are small but a 7600 clip will jam in the gun and will not work. If it is a 760 clip probably just a good cleaning as I have never had a problem with a 760 and between me and my family we have 5 of them along with one 7600.

He did seem to jam it so possible it could be a 7600 clip.
