Ruger ques?

I have a client looking to trade a gun for some taxidermy work. Doing some Gunbroker research the trade value is to my advantage but no experience with the gun or caliber.
Can I get some opinions or recommendations on the following...Ruger 77 stainless with the gray and black laminated stock in the 338 Win Mag
Thanks

Re: Ruger ques?

I think the 400-500 range but depends on what the buyer wants.

Re: Ruger ques?

I'd pay $500-$600 for that rifle if I was looking to buy one.

Re: Ruger ques?

Got one with brown laminate and one with solid walnut. Good guns, and worth about $500 to someone that really wants one. But if you are going to just sell it to get your servie money back, I think $350 cash equal.

No more than $400 if it has been fired at all.

Re: Ruger ques?

Thanks guys.
Looks like the monetary trade value is good.
What can you all tell me about the Ruger's and the 338 win mag caliber?
Looked at some of them yesterday at NRA convention.
It felt good, stock seemed to fit my frame and shouldered well.
The Ruger Gunsite Scout was awesome, wish he were trading me that....

Re: Ruger ques?

The ruger is a solid well made gun, like many factory mass produced rifles most are accurate. The 338 is generally considered more for larger animals such as moose, elk, etc. You could use it in Pa but more gun than needed. IMO as long as you have one, it would be a great Pa black bear gun. Recoil is stout but no more than a 12 gauge shotgun. I personally think it is a great multi-use caliber.

Re: Ruger ques?

My Ruger 77 mark @ has been to Africa, Alaska and killed 10+ PA whitetails. If you are not recoil sensative, it is the one gun for all your big game hunting.

Shoot the 200 grain Remington Core-loks rounds for starters, a little lighter on recoil and they will kill anything from moose, elk, grizzly and Pa whitetail.
since it is stainless I assme yours is a mark2 or a hawkeye, earlier model had a tang safety. All 3 models are very nice rifles.
