best 300 win mag bullets??

I'm planning an elk trip next year and just picked up my new rifle. I don't reload and have never hunted elk before. What factory ammo out there is a good place to start looking. I am a fan of ballistic tips and have used them exclusively on everything I have shot in PA. What are some suggestions on bullet heads and weights. Thanks for any input!

Get one of the premium loads from any of the major makers, I would get a 180 gr bullet unless it is a Barnes.

When I had a 300 winnie had good success with the Fed Prem Nosler Partitions & Hornady interlock...both in 180 grain.

Re: best 300 win mag bullets??

In my book - Hornady makes the best production bullet on the market. I believe that after testing a number of production loads for my 300 Win mag at distances out to 400 yds. I shot a Mule deer 2 years ago in WY. at 368 yds with a 180 gr Hornady BT.

180 gr Barnes TSX or Barnes TTSX. Pick the one that shoots more accurate out of your rifle.
