hogue overmolded stock

I just purchased an overmolded stock with a full aluminum bedding block for my remington vls. I had the recoil lug on the gun adjusted so the barrel rests in the center of the barrel channel. Now the barrel is in contact with the stock at the end of the stock. I would prefer not to sand any of the stock away. Is it possible to put a spacer in between the front screw and the action and the bedding block to raise the barrel a 1/16"? Something like a thin washer.
